Come and experience the good news of resurrection this Easter with us.
Join us on Good Friday as we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through Scripture, music, a message, and time around the Lord’s Table. This is the story of the fusion of God’s holy justice and fathomless love for humanity. Do you want to see how much God hates sin? Look at the cross. Do you want to see how much God loves sinners? Look at the cross.
Celebrate Easter Sunday with us. The resurrection of Jesus means death no longer has the last word in our story. We’re excited to tell this story dramatically through the eyes of a 1st Century witness…Peter. There is healing. There is hope. And His name is Jesus.
At West Portal, we invite you to experience the power and hope of Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join us for a meaningful and inspiring Easter weekend filled with worship, reflection, and fellowship.

As we eagerly anticipate Easter, we invite you, our church family, to join us in a 28-day social media fast. This means setting aside social media, entertainment, and other distractions to connect more deeply with God.
In our fast-paced world, this intentional pause helps us quiet our minds and hear the voice of Holy Spirit more clearly. By stepping away from endless scrolling, we reset our brains, break free from distractions, and refocus on what truly matters.
This Easter season isn’t just about giving something up; it’s about making room for something greater—renewed faith, deeper prayer, and a heart fully tuned to the joy of Christ’s resurrection.
We hope this guide can be an aid to you over the next 4 weeks as we look to be intentional about preparing our hearts for the Easter season!
On the first day of the social media fast, you’re tasked with going through your phones and deleting all your social media apps. This includes the classic ones like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and X (Twitter). We encourage you to consider deleting any apps on your phone or computer that lead to endless scrolling. This could also include news apps, apps like YouTube and TikTok, and anything else that steals your time from God and your family.
This can be the hardest week of the 28-day fast so make sure to lean on those in your family and small group and talk through when you feel that temptation.
This week is all about discovery. After 7 days of not using your devices for social media, you start creating space to learn more about those around you, yourself, and God. Take this as a challenge to intentionally listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and to learn something new about those in your closest circle. We also encourage limiting your time watching movies and TV.
By week 3, you are rebooting the way you experience delight. By this point, it has started to become normal that your devices are simply tools for work and not for pleasure or enjoyment. Take time this week to ask God what delights Him and to ask Him what brings you the most delight as well. We encourage you to spend this week going through your phone and/or computer and praying over what apps distract you the most from God (that aren’t necessary for work). Consider deleting these apps permanently this week.
This week you get to decide what parts of this fast stick with you and what social media or other apps you will reintroduce into your life. You should take this week to really meditate on the Word, spend time with Jesus, and look forward to the celebration of Easter!
Kids Kindergarten-Grade 6 are invited to SET SAIL with us for an adventure of a lifetime!
